Everyone was encouraged to bring flowers or plants in memory of someone for Sunday morning, we picked out the Tye dyed roses for Aunt Tyra from the kids and the Calla lilies in a pretty purple vase as well! Then we got something for G-pa Goins as well. The kids often mention how much they miss Aunt Tyra and honestly this week has been a little difficult and emotional with her on my mind, as she is every day, some days are just way worse than others. But like I tell my kids and I have to remind myself, she is in a better place and it gives more of a reason to wanna make it to Heaven!
Saturday night we made Resurrection Rolls for Breakfast for Easter Sunday morning!(Thanks to Angie Elmore for the recipe/idea) My kids thought it was neat and it was a good object lesson relating to the empty tomb, however Nichole was a little frustrated that she didn't have a marshmallow in the middle to eat. :o) They were good and would have been better if the oven didn't fill up with smoke from the marshmallow oozing out in the oven ad causing them to, as Devon would say, taste a little like steak!"(from the smoke flavor it left) I can promise you it was cheaper than steak too! :o)
We made little bird nest for snack too!
Grandma played games with the kids and had an Easter Egg hunt for them as well! Such a patient grandma! :o)
Egg Race
Nichole has obviously helped me inn the kitchen alot...I think she "cracked" every egg on a hard service before pulling them open to see what was inside. It was funny!
