~Garden Stuff~

The kids have been begging to make pickles...so we finally did, and will make many more I am sure!
We picked a watermelon, put it in the fridge til the next evening, and patiently waited to cut it and see how it was!(after alot of research on when to pick them!) There are tons and they are a good size, several as big or bigger than basketballs! The kids love watching them grow! And by the way...it was YUMMY!

We were headed to go work in the garden at the school tonight, apparently Nichole thought we were gonna get some snow! She is such a goof! The crazy girl wore it the whole time, her poor head/hair was wet from sweat!

Do you think the maker of this scarecrow should be fired?! I laughed my head off when I went to the garden this morning and saw this poor guy...obviously with an eating disorder!

The best part of a hot day....ice cream cones!

It has been way too hot to do anything but eat ice cream cones and Popsicles!! So that is all we have been up to! Believe it or not we go a good 2 inches of rain last night! That was great, minus the fact that the crazy winds tore up the garden. :o(

In other news....Ryan gave his notice at Cessna today!! He is starting at Amazon in a couple of weeks, he will be a(4th level) manager, but that is all I know. :o/ His first week he will be in AZ for training, which I am already dreading. And then he trains for the rest of a good month. He wont know what shift or days he will have until after that. It was a much better feeling turning in a notice at Cessna than them giving him a furlough or layoff notice. He has been there 7 years, so several were surprised! The good thing with Amazon is they have a future, they plan on being at the level where wal-mart is in 1 1/2 yrs! There is a lot of potential for moving up and being promoted as well! So we don't have to stress and be sick about furloughs and layoffs! Its already relieving! It has been a rough 2 years since it all started and we have prayed (and cried) our hearts out, the Lord is answering prayer and it is always exciting to tell the kids when he does!
Speaking of the kids....they sang with us at church for the first time!(minus Nichole who was being hard headed, she just stood there and she always sings it louder than the rest of them. I told someone that there are 2 things that are the problem...she has some of her mama in her and she has Goins' blood, I am surprised she isn't worse!!!!) We hope they will do it more often! When we are in the car they sing so loud you can hardly hear the cd that is playing..... I Can Trust Jesus came on, on the way to church last Sunday and hearing them sing it made me cry, I hope as they grow up and see God move that they know that no matter what we go through, they can trust Jesus! I am sure we sounded dorky, but I don't care, I just want them to love and sing for Him...not them! :o)

Busy, Busy!

Haven't posted much, it has been too hot to do much of anything and we have been busy! Garden, garden, garden!!! Ryan has had numerous interviews and some job offers. We are waiting to hear back from one about not working Sundays and if they will work with him. If so he will be gone to Phoenix for a week for training, I am already dreading it, and he hasn't even takin the job offer yet! :o/ So if anyone needs a place to stay for a week...I am up for some company!!
Have a couple interested in the house and another wanting to come and see it, I had 6 kids today, so didn't exactly wanna try to show it in the middle of the day when they were wanting to. For some reason 6 kids and a clean house don't go together!
My sister is due anytime with her baby! We are excited! My kids can't wait! My luck it will be a day I have 3 extra kids and I won't be able to go! :o/ And of course I can't call my mom to come help with the kids because she will already be there ...probably right outside the door "patiently" waiting! I have an awesome mom, Really, Really! She is just a typical mom some days!! The older I get the more she amazes me!
And if I can brag a little...I finally lost my goal of 50 pounds!!!! I wanna lose 10 more now!! And then 10 more, and then 10 more, and then..... :o) Now I gotta work to keep it off!
I told Nichole the other day to sit down and eat her lunch and she sadly held her stomach and said, " I can't, my feelings hurt!" She is such a stinker!
Last night I cut my finger pretty bad and had blood everywhere, Courtney sternly said, "mom, you aren't suppose to do that(like I did it on purpose)......But I will pray for you, Dear God,um... please help feel my mommy's finger better, thank you for letting me pray, Amen!" one minute later...."does it feel better now!?" With several pain relievers, it felt better!
My boys have been awful all summer(to be blunt) and have done nothing but fight, other than that not a lot to say on their behalf. LOL! Can't wait til school starts! They have mentioned several times that they miss Mrs Snider!

Devon's Last Game!

Devon had his last game this week, He even hit two home runs! Which of course made him extremely happy and wouldn't you know it....it was the bat, that's the reason he was able to do that! :o) He called a few people after his game to tell them! But I am kinda glad it is over! He was rather sad, maybe next year both boys can play and they will be on the same team. Sounds like Ryan may be one of the coaches for their team next year if we are around.

Devon's team won every game but one and he helped another team a couple of times when they were short players! They all get a trophy after their last game! He was quite proud!! It looks like something you can pick up at Dollar Tree! lol! But he doesn't care, he shows everyone who comes to the house!
